I can understand his point though. There is a percentage out there who, unfortunately, fall into Thompsons' ideal category of 'trained on video games to learn to kill'. But that is an extremely small percentage considering how many high school students, college students and adults actually play video games. It just takes that one or two individuals to mess it up for everyone and unfortunately cost the lives of several people and scar many others emotionally. I just wish Mr. Thompson would wait for evidence (physical, medical and whatever else can be found) and respect the grieving period for those affected by such tragedies.
I'll end my rant with one quote.
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."
Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989
Personally I play a lot of flying simulations, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Katamari, and City of Heroes. That does not mean that I'm a pilot, a Special Ops agent, a ball rolling alien, or a super hero. Although I wouldnt mind being a pilot.
